What is DVA Physiotherapy?

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) offers physiotherapy treatment for eligible DVA members. If you are a current or former serving member of the Australia defence force, you may be eligible for physiotherapy services and benefits from the DVA. These benefits may also apply if you are the spouse, widow, or child of an eligible DVA member or veteran.

Do I Need a Referral?

You will need a referral to access our DVA physiotherapy services. 

You can obtain a referral for physiotherapy from a:

  • General Practitioner (GP)
  • Medical specialist
  • Treating doctor in hospital
  • Hospital discharge planner
  • Another physiotherapist with a current referral.
Once we receive your referral, we’ll confirm your eligibility for services, assess your clinical needs, and discuss a tailored treatment plan with you.
Do I Need to Pay for DVA Physiotherapy?

No. If you are an eligible DVA card holder, Hampton Park Physiotherapy directly bills DVA for any services provided. There is no gap payment for your DVA physiotherapy service.

What Should I Bring to My Appointment?

For your DVA physio appointment, please bring with you:

  • A DVA Gold or White Card
  • A current referral for physiotherapy
